You need to get a bachelor’s degree in psychology from a university recognized by UGC.

While most universities will prefer students who have done their undergraduate in psychology, it is not mandatory.

Most colleges will require you to pass an entrance exam.

In your post-graduation course, you will also finish an internship that lasts up to two to three months.

Work Experience
Becoming a psychologist is not something that you can do right after your bachelors or 12th.

Try working with professors with their researchers. Intern with an NGO if you are looking to do child psychology or experimental psychology.
You can also volunteer in a mental hospital if you want to become a developmental psychologist.

Doctorate
If you want to dig a little deeper and get more understanding into psychology then a doctorate is the way forward.
It is advisable to have a doctorate in psychology.
Most institutions will look for a good score in GRE, a GPA of 3.3 or higher and volunteer experience in the field of psychology.
Internships
Your journey to become a psychologist has one last step to go through.
You need to finish a two-year internship before you can become a great psychologist.
This will give you well on the job training.

To become a psychologist in India you need to have other skills that go beyond your education.
