These activities encourage the pre-readers and experienced readers to develop healthy study habits apart from their school curriculum.

The experts have categorized the activities in three stages,
Birth to Preschool
Activity 1: Books and Babies
Read funny stories or sing lullabies to your baby. Babies love to listen to stories regularly. While reading, show them the colorful images and illustrations in the books.
Activity 2: Repetition and Rhyme
Pick a story or poem with rhymes and read it to your kid rhythmically. Children love to listen to repeated and rhythmic phrases. Try to interact with your child using hand gestures and smiles.
Activity 3: Tot Talk
Talk to your children about everyday activities in an exciting way. This way, the kids feel connected to the world and get new ideas daily.
Activity 4: Poetry in Motion
Read poems to your kid with voice modulation. When your child gets interested in a specific poem, encourage him/her to read the same and praise his/her performance playfully.
Activity 5: Story Talk
You can talk about the other aspects of a story that you read to your child. An engaging, interactive discussion helps the child to improve their language skill and thinking ability.
Activity 6: TV
Choose to show good TV shows to your child so that you and your child can watch the show every day together. You can discuss your opinion about the show and ask your kid about his/her opinion.
Activity 7: Hearing
When you tell your child a story, your child will try to mimic you and tell a story.
Preschool to Grade 2
Activity 8: World of Words
Take paper, pencil, newspapers, magazines, and scissors. Cut words and pictures from the papers, collect them, and read those words later together.
Activity 9: Look for Books
Encourage your child to search for the books they love. This helps your child to connect with more people and more books.
Activity 10: Writing
Teach your child to write on whatever they remember from a story—writing and reading are interlinked together.
Activity 12: Family Stories
Family stories strengthen the bond between the parent and child. This activity requires the family to remove some time from their busy schedule.
Grade 3 to Grade 6
